A woman whose identity is yet to be revealed has dragged his husband who is a pastor to court over his inability to consumate their marriage two years after.
The disturbing story was shared in the official Facebook page of Due Process Advocates, a human rights organization with it’s headquarters in United States.
NewsBand gathered that the lady dated this pastor for three months before they got married. During the courtship, the man told her that it is against the commandment of God for them to have sex before they were married. She believed him.
The lady in question later discovered that the manhood of the so called husband does not function.
The duo married only under the customary law. Now, the woman is trying to dissolve the marriage.
DPA shared the draft for grounds for divorce in the petition filed by the angry lady.
Draft reads, “That within a few weeks into the marriage, it took God’s intervention and a dint of luck for the Petitioner to discover why the Respondent had never attempted to have sexual intercourse with her during their few months of courtship.
“That since their marriage the Respondent has not had sexual intercourse with the Petitioner and this has been a problem in the marriage .
“That it was as a result of constant demand for sexual intimacy that the Petitioner discovered that the Respondent has an extreme form of erectile dysfunction which does not allow him to achieve erection and be able to penetrate a woman during intercourse.
“That in order to achieve erection, the Respondent and the Petitioner have engaged in various measures, all recommended by the Respondent, such measures including fasting and praying for three days, going into the mountain for prayer sessions, keeping vigils. Yet none worked. Respondent penis shows no sign of erection.
“That immediately the Petitioner noticed this, she registered her displeasure and when every effort failed to yield any result, the she left the marital home and hoped that the Respondent would receive treatment and cure himself of impotency.
“That the Petitioner states that she has endured this for more than two years now and the Respondent is virtually doing nothing to help his predicament only asking the Petitioner to put him in prayers.
“That the Petitioner feels that the Respondent deliberately concealed his serious medical and health condition and his impotency and misled the Petitioner into believing that the reason he did not want sexual intimacy before marriage was his religious beliefs.
“That on many occasions when the Petitioner and the Respondent had discussions over the matter, the Respondent encouraged the Petitioner to go and get pregnant from outside the marriage and bear the child for him.
“That the Petitioner is convinced that the Respondent’s plan was for her to bear children for him by getting pregnant from other men and she finds that repugnant and against her beliefs. Hence she is seeking to dissolution of the marriage.
“That the marriage is without any child due to the Respondent’s inability to have sex or to impregnate a woman.
“That the customary marriage between the Petitioner and the Respondent has broken down irretrievably as a result of the Respondent’s dishonesty about his health condition and as a result of his inability to consummate the marriage. .
Whereof the petitioner claims against the Respondent as follows:
“AN ORDER of the Honourable Court dissolving the customary marriage between the Petitioner and the Respondent.
B. AN ORDER of the Honourable Court mandating the return of the One Thousand Naira (N1,000.00) Only worth of bride price to the Respondent.
“And for such further or other orders as the Honourable Court may deem fit to make in the circumstances of this suit.”
